HtownNative starts a new chapter with our move to Coeur d’Alene (“CDA”), ID, which I previously wrote about (link). I have also posted about our 2,100-mile journey from Houston to CDA (link). I will forever be a HtownNative no matter where I live, so no changes to the name.
I will be adding a blog category called “outdoorsy,” which the internet defines as “of, associated with, or fond of outdoors.” Which seems appropriate. Although I have spent most of my life in urban areas, outdoorsy describes most of our vacations. There were many factors in selecting CDA as our new home and the desire for an outdoorsy lifestyle was a factor and so far, it has delivered on that.
The AllTrails (link) app tells me there are countless hiking trails in the area. We have managed to hike a few of those in our brief time here. Driving around the area, I have seen many dedicated bike pathways like what I have seen in The Netherlands, the land of the bicycle.
We are just getting started. As the winter sets in, we plan to do some snow skiing and snow shoeing once the snow arrives.
Outdoorsy aptly describes the feel and vibe of the CDA that I have experienced so far.
I will close this out with some pictures from our early days in CDA. More to come.
